These boxes are optional, and you don't need to unlock them in order to progress the story, but the rewards sure help you along the way!

- The first book is found in the Underground Temple hallway within a closed cabinet.
- The second book is found on the 3rd floor of Inabayama Keep immediately following Yumemaru's kidnapping by a Three-Eyes.
- The third and fourth books are both found in the safe room immediately before the roof of the Inabayama Keep.

- The third book is found in the East Area beneath the room containing the Trick Treasure Box that holds the Decorated Arrow.
- The Fourth book is found in the West Area on a shelf near the cabinet that requires the Wooden Gear. This book can only be accessed by Kaede.

Fluorite (蛍石) is the mineral form of calcium fluoride and is a hidden collectable item. While they are normally hidden, they become visible like other items once the player obtains the Vision Staff.

There are total of 20 fluorites hidden in the game. By collecting all the fluorites, you can unlock a bonus game mode called “Oni Spirits” after completing the game a first time.

Fluorite #1: In the right corner of the first corridor of the Underground Temple.
Fluorite #2: Behind the pots in the corridor located after the arena of Osric.
Fluorite #3: On the ground floor of the Keep, on the shelf near the stairs leading to the upper floor.
Fluorite #4: Under the stairs connecting the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor of the Keep.
Fluorite #5: Inside a small box in the main room on the 4th floor of the Keep.
Fluorite #6: In the iron maiden located north of the Keep Underground.
Fluorite #7: At the end of the corridor east of the Keep Underground.
Fluorite #8: In the right corner of the temple door located at the entrance of the West Area (locked by a level 3 thunder seal).
Fluorite #9: In front of the statue located in the secret room in the east of the West Area.
Fluorite #10: To the left of the stairs leading to the 2nd floor, near the burning corridor of the West Area.
Fluorite #11: On the ground at the end of the first corridor of the West Area. Requires the Vision Staff.
Fluorite #12: In the north of the West Area, cut the rope to drop the battering ram and then recover the Fluorite on the ground.
Fluorite #13: On the roof of the watchtower in the East Area.
Fluorite #14: In front of the boat allowing you to reach the boss of the East Area.
Fluorite #15: In the small temple of the first part of the East Area.
Fluorite #16: On the floor of the small building located in the last section of the East Area. Destroy the crates to find it.
Fluorite #17: In front of a ladder in the room at the end of the East Area.
Fluorite #18: Obtained at the Level 6 of the Dark Realm.
Fluorite #19: Obtained at the Level 11 of the Dark Realm.
Fluorite #20: Obtained at the Level 15 of the Dark Realm.
