My Grandma's Tiger Cake

The best kind of cake enjoyed with coffee, suitable for birthdays and other parties alike. Even though my grandma isn't with us anymore, this recipe makes me feel like she's still here.



Tiger Cake

Ingredients
  • 250 g margarine or butter
  • 2 dl sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 4 dl all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream

Steps
  • Whip together the margarine/butter and sugar.
  • Add the eggs one at a time while whipping.
  • Mix the vanilla sugar, flour, and baking powder together and gradually add them to the mixture.
  • Put about a third of the batter to another bowl and mix in the cocoa powder and cream.
  • Grease and flour a round baking pan with breadcrumbs.
  • Layer both batters in the pan.
  • Take a knife or barbecue sticks and swirl the batter gently making flowy pattern to the batter. Make sure not to mix too much!
  • Bake at 175 C for about 45 minutes.
  • Best served with coffee or tea with your loved ones.
